- PPSU stands for Polyphenylsulfone, it is a medical-grade plastic that is certified by the FDA. PPSU materials are more durable and more heat-resistance compared to PP bottles
- It is recommended to replace the PPSU bottles every 6-12 months depending on usage habits and the condition of the bottle. The replacement term may vary depending on how frequently the product is used..
- Yes, it is compatible with bottle sterilizers. The sterilization temperature of bottle sterilizers is approximately 35-40 degrees Celsius. Occasionally, there may be odors during sterilization, so it is recommended to use the sterilizer’s ventilation function or avoid prolonged use.
Q. How to disinfect with hot water?
- After the water boils, turn off the heat and place the suitable items in the heated water. For the body parts, soak it for approximately 5 minutes. Meanwhile, soak the accessories and other components in heated water for approximately 30 seconds. Please be careful not to let them touch the sides of the pot and handle them as if blanching.
Q. How to switch from a baby bottle to a straw cup?
- You will need a handle and a straw. For first-time users, a sippy straw may be easier to use.
- The straw teat is designed with an anti-reflux feature (+ cut shape), allowing the liquid to be drawn by pressing or slightly biting the teat with the tongue to open the plus-shaped cut.
You can find tutorials on straw practice on the Grosmimi YouTube channel for reference. https://youtu.be/NW-j5MbjUHM
- The timing for transitioning from the weighted straw to a regular straw varies for each baby. If your baby uses the straw cup well and mainly drinks while sitting, you can switch to a regular straw. However, if your baby prefers to drink while lying down or is very active, it may be convenient to continue using the weighted straw.
- We recommend using the weighted straw for babies starting with straw cups as it requires less sucking force compared to regular straws.
STAINLESS-STEEL STRAW CUP
Q. Can we use heat disinfection for stainless-steel straw cups?
- No, stainless-steel straw cups and insulated containers cannot be heat-disinfected as water can seep in through the gaps. Additionally, products with one-touch caps cannot be heat-disinfected.
FOOD TRAY
Q. Can stainless-steel food tray be used in bottle sterilizers?
- Yes, the stainless-steel food tray can be used in UV bottle sterilizer.
- Yes, the stainless-steel food trays can be heat sterilized, but NOT the lids.
Q. Can stainless food tray be used in a dishwasher?
- The stainless-steel food tray is suitable for dishwasher use. However, the lid is made of PP material, it may deform or shrink with high temperatures in the dishwasher. Hence, we recommend to place only the tray without lid into dishwasher.
Q. Is it safe to use stainless food tray in the microwave?
- No, this product cannot be used in microwave ovens due to its stainless-steel material properties.
- Scratches on stainless food tray may cause content to seep in, leading to bacterial growth or rust formation. If scratches are severe, we recommend replacing the product.
Q. Is it possible to cut the straw of the weighted straw cup for use if it’s too long?
- No, for the weighted straw cup, regardless of whether it’s 200ml or 300ml, please use it as it is without cutting the straw.
- We recommend replacing the silicone items every 2-3 months.
Q. It seems like water isn’t flowing well through the silicone teats in Stages 3 and 4. Should I puncture holes?
- We recommend using the teat as original product purchased. For Stage 3 and 4 teats, which feature Y and X cuts, it’s normal for liquid not to come out when the baby isn’t sucking.
Q. The contents are leaking from the silicone teat (teat stages 0, 1, 2)
- The silicone teats from Stage 0 to Stage 2 have round hole shape, allowing gradual flow of liquid even not being sucked, to suit newborn/younger babies. Therefore, please be cautious not to leave the bottle lying down or upside down, as the content may leak.
Q. When transitioning beyond Stage 3 teats, your child may find suction a little difficult.
- Stage 3 silicone teats have a Y-cut shape, where the liquid won’t flow unless the baby sucks directly. Therefore, they are recommended for babies over 5 months old. There may be an adaptation period, so it’s advised to continue use for a few days initially. If the baby finds it too difficult or struggles to feed, you can switch back to the previous stage and gradually reintroduce Stage 3 silicone teats later.
Q. Can we wash the air holes of the straw nipple?
- No, do not wash the air holes of the straw nipple with bristles as they may damage the silicone due to the extremely small size of the air valve. Please gently rub with your fingers during cleaning.
Q. The air valve is punctured (the valve is flipped).
- While washing or playing with the air valve of straw teat, it’s possible for the air valve to flip inside out, making it appear punctured. Please flip the teat to check if the valve straightens out when gently wiped or scratched.
Q. Is there replacement for the 200ml straw?
- Replacement straw sets are typically sold based on the 300ml standard. However, for PPSU 200ml straw cups, we recommend cutting the straw set by about 3-4cm before use.
Q. What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 straw teat? How to distinguish them?
- The difference between straw teat Stage 1 and Stage 2 lies in the softness and hardness of the silicone material. For children over 12 months who tend to bite or chew more, we recommend using the slightly firmer Stage 2 teat. However, firmer teats require more sucking force, so for children who are not yet accustomed to using a straw or do not bite or chew, we recommend using Stage 1 teats even after 12 months.
ACCESSORIES
Q. Is steam sterilization allowed for cap & ring?
- Steam sterilization is only possible for the body of bottle and silicone parts. The PP material of the cap and ring has a heat resistance temperature close to 100 degrees Celsius, which has concerns about material deformation. Therefore, please avoid using a steam sterilizer.
Q. Is it a defect if the handle spins?
-
The handle is detachable from the body’s screw ring and rotating is a normal feature of the product to protect babies wrists. When the baby holds the handle, it allows for easy rotation of the bottle body, making it easy to change the direction of th
